Southern Rocky Mountain Wolf

Another subspecies of grey wolf, the Southern Rocky Mountain Wolf (Canis lupus youngi) is also possibly extinct.

This grey wolf subspecies was found in the central to south central United States, covering an area stretching from Idaho to Nevada, and down to northern New Mexico. Wolves are back in both Idaho and Wyoming, but have been shown to be the Northwestern Wolf.

The Southern Rocky Mountain Wolf was a mid-sized species, lighter-colored, but with dark grey to black hairs on their backs. It's looks resemble the Great Plains Wolf..
